In 2021, I led the launch of a grantmaking initiative at the Community FoodBank of NJ. In its fourth year, the food bank gave its largest grants to date, up to $100,000 for transformational, capacity-building projects. The grant program was celebrated at an event with Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin. See coverage at NJ Spotlight News.

I interviewed State Senator M. Teresa Ruiz and Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., with my colleague Brad Preston this morning at our Newark Thanksgiving distribution. It was interesting to hear their perspectives on our partnership and how to reduce food insecurity. My incredible team distributed 3,900 turkeys and chickens and over 2,000 boxes

Every year, the Community FoodBank of NJ organizes the distribution of tens of thousands of turkeys, roasters, and holiday boxes for Thanksgiving. It is one of the most logistically challenging things we do, but also one of the most rewarding. In 2021, we collaborated with Bergen County for the first time to distribute produce boxes
